Walking Tour of Historic Downtown Fernie – Fernie’s colourful heritage is preserved in the historic buildings downtown. Stories of tragedy and triumph, boom and bust. Historical interpreter Lee-Anne Walker brings history to life utilizing building architecture, artifacts, photographs and colourful stories.

Cost: Adults $15, Child (6-13) $5, 5 and under FREE. Minimum of 4 required. Includes 2 hour guided tour and souvenir walking tour brochure and GST.

Wildlife Watching – The SE corner of BC is the Serengeti of Canada. See elk, bighorn sheep, moose, turtles, kokanee spawning, coyote, deer, beaver, bald eagle, American dipper and more! Learn about local conservation biology and efforts to protect wildlife.
Departure: Will pickup within the Fernie Alpine Resort and Fernie townsite. 8:00-12:00 p.m. Booking dates flexible – on request.

Step-on guide Lee-Anne Walker has been an interpreter of natural and human history in the region for 22 years. She knows all the best sites, back roads, nooks, crannies and stories that bring to life a history of boom and bust, tragedy and triumph and legendary stories. At the same time she reveals the unique Rocky Mountain ecosystem and the many plants and animals that share with us this spectacular area.

Cost: $300 per day + GST.

Environmental Education Programs for Schools and Families – Lee-Anne Walker has been an environmental educator for 20 years. Her vast repertoire includes curriculum-based programs for primary to college students on ecosystem awareness, environmental stewardship, ecology, wildlife trees, ecotourism and animal adaptations (Western painted turtles, bats, cougars, bears, kokanee and more). To engage students she uses hands-on activities, role-playing, games, nature awareness tools and audio-visual aids.
Programs offered throughout the school year. Lee-Anne is the coordinator for the Elk Valley Young Naturalist club and can also prepare programs fun and educational programs for families visiting the area.
Cost: 4 hour program/field trip $200.00, 2 hour program/field trip $125.00 plus mileage at $.40/km
